Minutes of General Body meeting of IART held on 17th November 2007 at 5:30pm in the Bhargava Auditorium, PGIMER Chandigarh during the 16thACRT and 9th NCIART.
Following issues including minutes of EC meeting held on 14th November 2007 were discussed and approved in this meeting :
1. ISRRT 15th World Congress, Durban, South Africa: 24-27 April, 2008
All the members were informed about the forthcoming ISRRT world conference as mentioned above and were appealed to attend the same by raising funds at their own except that IART would facilitate their participation. As already decided during the EC / GB Meeting held at Kanya Kumari During 7th NCIART, it will provide only a sum of Rs. 10000 either to the President or General Secretary or whosoever else from the association will represent IART in the International / Asian Conference for the promotion of IART activities.
2. Bid for the next IART conference.
All the members were appealed to bid for the 10th National Conference of IART to be held in the year 2008. In this regard Mr. R. K. Goyal and Mr. R. S. Kapoor proposed to hold the next conference in AIIMS, New Delhi before 30th October 2008, for which Mr. R. K. Goyal informed that he would intimate the final dates as soon as possible. All the members Agreed to the proposal. (Kind attention Mr. R. K. Goyal)
3. Registration Council Issue.
Mr. S. C. Bansal apprised the members till date progress and efforts done by the IART. Also appealed the members to exert their personal influence in getting this Registration Council bill introduced in the parliament.
All the members agreed.
4. Revision of Membership fees.
The issue of revising of membership fee was discussed in length and it was apprised that since IART has no additional source of income other than the membership fees, which is too meager sum to meet the rising cost of postage and stationary including printing etc.
For this all the members unanimously agreed to raise the fees as below with immediate effect:
Life Membership Fee Rs. 525 Revised to Rs.1100
Associate / Students Membership fee Rs. 125 Revised to Rs. 250
For NRI / Overseas Membership fee US$100 Revised to US$ 200
5. Publication of Journal.
Mr. Lalit Kumar Gupta, Editor IART requested all the members to submit article for be publication in the Journal and apprised that only very few members submit articles for publication hence sometimes it becomes very difficult to print the journal in time. All the members assured for the needful.

6. Report of Treasurer.
Regarding financial report for the year ending 31st March 2007 Mr. Surinder Singh, Treasurer IART Informed the general body that still the report is not ready, it is being prepared by CA and he will submit it before 31st March 2008.

7. Appointment of Election Commission.
Since the elections for the office bearers of IART are due in June 2008, therefore it was decided to nominate Election Commission for electing office bearer for 2008.
These 3 posts that includes one chief election commissioner and two election commissioners. Following names were proposed and approved.by the general body:
For Chief Election Commissioner the name of Mr S.K Dhawan was proposed by Mr. R. P. Bhatnagar, Seconded by Mr. R. K. Goyal
For Election Commisioner the name of Mr. Hardip Singh was proposed by Mr. R. K. Goyal, Seconded by Mr. Surinder Singh and name of. Mr. Ashok Parmar was proposed by Mr. Lalit Gupta, Seconded by Mr. Surinder Singh
8. Appreciation of contribution of IART members who donated for the 16thACRT:

Mr. Ojas Bhatt
have donated for promoting professional activities and cause of radiological technology for their contribution was applauded by each and everyone present.
Mr. Charanjeet Singh Cheema from Punjab Agricultural University, a senior member of IART contributed a sum of Rs.5000/- to the IART, which was appreciated by each and everyone. Further all those present were also appealed to contribute/raise funds for promoting IART activities.
In this regard President of Punjab society of Radiographers’ announced that their association would also contribute a sum of Rs.5000/- at the earliest. (Still awaited). Mr Ravi from H.P. also announced that he would personally contribute Rs 5000/- to IART (Still Awaited).
Meeting ended with vote of thanks to the chair, all the members present gave standing oration to the organizing committee of 16th ACRT and 9th NCIART for organizing such informative and wonderful conference at PGIMER, Chandigarh.
